TEXT: LUKE15:11-24

INTRODUCTION: Last week, we completed the series on "Living the abundant life". Today we shall resume the study on how God has equipped us to deal with sin and have victory over it.

The power to reign over sin is in our union with Christ Jesus. In Christ, we have been set free from the kingdom of darkness where sin reigns. We are no longer under the authority of sin. We don't have to obey sin any longer because in Him, we are dead to sin and alive to God.

Factors earlier identified in the first part of the topic included beginning our day by asking for God's help against temptation, edifying ourselves by speaking spiritual language, having the consciousness of our spiritual weapons and arming ourselves with them.

Today, we shall examine in details other factors such as the need to acknowledge our sins, daily meditation on the word of God, dependence on God's grace and the need to control our tongue.

May the Lord's grace continue to be multiplied in our lives even as we walk in obedience to His word.
