STIR UP THE GIFT with Rev.Dr.Felix Omobude
You need to continue to stir up the gift of God in you
Revelation 2:1-5 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
2 Timothy 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
2 words;
1. Gift: It is given not because you worked for it, it is given not to punish you but for the benefit of you and the people around you.
God is the biggest giver of gifts. Every good and perfect gift is of God.
2. Stir: How do you stir something? Women here today know how to stir, as they have experiences from their spaces
To stir is to move someone to take action. It means to agitate for a cause. Its given to you as a gift but what you do with it is your prerogative.
From the verse in Revelation that we read the people manifested Love deficiency syndrome. But the big ask today is if God was to write to us as a ministry (NCGC) what would be His message to us?
God knows your works and the capacity wherein you serve His people and His house. Whether you evangelize or you pray or you meet a need He knows your works.
Jeremiah 2:2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
Galatians 4:15 Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.
Love Deficiency Syndrome (LDS)
When a man begins to fancy other women over above your wife, complains about everything she does…He is exhibiting Love deficiency.
When prayers and bible study is now hard work, you are love deficient.
God is interested in us being wholly committed to Him, He calls us to repent of all love deficiency indications and come back to Him
Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Do not let the abounding iniquity make your love go cold.
To get over the LOVE DEFICIENCY SYNDROME, Trace where Jonah entered your boat. Let that Jonah off your boat.
Matthew 25:20-21 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Matthew 25:26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
A man with LDS exhibits Wickedness and slothfulness as the main character.
If you do not stir up the gift God has given to you, it will lead to LDS.
1 Timothy 4:7-9 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
Stirring up your gift is not an easy task, exercising is hard but it has benefit to the body and for your faith in Jesus Christ.
