THE BENEFITS OF THE PEACE OF GOD IN OUR HEARTS – Part2

INTRODUCTION: The benefits of the peace of God in our hearts, as discussed in the first part of this topic last week, included enhancing the elimination of fear and helping in the clarification of God’s instructions to us.
In today’s study, we shall conclude the series on the covenant of peace by discussing the second part of the benefits of the peace of God. The peace of God in our hearts strengthens us from within thereby positioning us for victory against the wiles of the devil. Joy, health, righteousness and gratitude to God overflow when the peace of God rules our hearts.
1) GUARD OUR HEARTS AND MINDS AND POSITIONS US FOR VICTORY.
Phil. 4:6-7; Rm. 16:20; II Sam. 22:36; Jn. 14:27; I Pet. 5:8
The peace of God in us keeps our hearts and minds from worries. It positions us for victory over the schemes of the devil and his agents. We are thus able to crush satan under our feet. The peace of God in us strengthens us from within.
2) JOY, HEALTH and RIGHTEOUSNESS ARE ITS PRODUCTS.
Prov. 12:20 & Hab. 3:17-19; Ps. 85:10; Hab. 3:16 & Mk. 4:39.
The peace of God in us enables us to experience the joy that is not dependent on external circumstances. The calming of the storms of life by the Holy Spirit in us cures us of anxiety, depression and hypertension, etc. Peace positions us to live righteously, as both are closely related.
