PRAYER THAT AVAILS- Part 2

TEXT: DANIEL 10:1-4, 10-14

INTRODUCTION: In our study oIn the first part of the topic, we identified the importance of being in God’s presence and praying in line with His will as essentials in having our prayers avail.Today we shall discuss other prerequisites to having the purpose of our prayers realized. These include belief and faith that He hears us whenever we call on Him and the need for patience and persistence in order to ultimately receive the answer in response to our communication with Him.

 1) BELIEVE THAT GOD HEARS YOU: Mk. 11:22-24; Jam. 1:5-8; Dan. 10:12-13; Heb. 11:6For what you say to come to pass, you must not harbour any doubt in your heart. God searches the heart. What comes out of your mouth cannot please God if your heart believes in something contrary. God hears us the moment we pray to Him. Genuine faith includes receiving in the spirit even before the physical manifestation.

  2) PATIENCE AND PERSISTENCE ARE VITAL: Heb. 6:12; Lk. 11:5-10; Col. 4:2When doubt rears its head, we need to persist in the place of prayer. With patience, the thing asked is received or that which is equivalent, either the thorn in the flesh is removed or grace sufficient is given. We will be able to inherit the promises of His word to us with a combination of faith and patience. Our persistence proves to God that we are serious and sure that our communication with Him is in line with His will. In our waiting, we should watch with thanksgiving.

MEMORY VERSE:Mark 11:24 KJV “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
